Understand SpeechWave's credit system: 1 credit equals 1 character, roughly 800 credits per minute of audio, and what each plan includes.
SpeechWave uses a simple, transparent credit system to measure how much audio you can generate. There are no hidden multipliers and no per-voice pricing — every plan works the same way, so you always know exactly what a generation will cost before you hit generate.
Two rules are all you need to remember:
The credit cost is exact: the number of credits a generation uses is simply the number of characters in your text — including letters, spaces, and punctuation. The audio length is an estimate. Roughly every 750–800 characters produces about one minute of spoken audio, but the exact length depends on the speaking speed, punctuation, and natural pauses in your script.
| You type | Credits used | Approx. audio |
|---|---|---|
| 800 characters | 800 | ~1 minute |
| 4,000 characters | 4,000 | ~5 minutes |
| 8,000 characters | 8,000 | ~10 minutes |
These audio lengths are approximate. Because delivery speed varies, one minute of audio can take anywhere from about 750 to 800 characters — faster speech fits more characters into a minute, slower speech fits fewer. Use ~800 characters per minute as a safe estimate when planning your content.
Your monthly credits reflect how much audio you can generate each billing cycle:
| Plan | Monthly credits | Approx. audio |
|---|---|---|
| Free | 10,000 | ~12 minutes |
| Basic | 30,000 | ~37 minutes |
| Plus | 100,000 | ~125 minutes |
