How Credits Work

Understand SpeechWave's credit system: 1 credit equals 1 character, roughly 800 credits per minute of audio, and what each plan includes.

Understanding SpeechWave Credits, Characters, and Audio Length

SpeechWave uses a simple, transparent credit system to measure how much audio you can generate. There are no hidden multipliers and no per-voice pricing — every plan works the same way, so you always know exactly what a generation will cost before you hit generate.

The Simple Formula

Two rules are all you need to remember:

  • 1 credit = 1 character of text (exact)
  • ~800 credits ≈ 1 minute of audio (approximate)

The credit cost is exact: the number of credits a generation uses is simply the number of characters in your text — including letters, spaces, and punctuation. The audio length is an estimate. Roughly every 750–800 characters produces about one minute of spoken audio, but the exact length depends on the speaking speed, punctuation, and natural pauses in your script.

Quick Reference

You typeCredits usedApprox. audio
800 characters800~1 minute
4,000 characters4,000~5 minutes
8,000 characters8,000~10 minutes

These audio lengths are approximate. Because delivery speed varies, one minute of audio can take anywhere from about 750 to 800 characters — faster speech fits more characters into a minute, slower speech fits fewer. Use ~800 characters per minute as a safe estimate when planning your content.

What Each Plan Includes

Your monthly credits reflect how much audio you can generate each billing cycle:

PlanMonthly creditsApprox. audio
Free10,000~12 minutes
Basic30,000~37 minutes
Plus100,000~125 minutes

Plan names, prices, and included credits are subject to change. Always check the pricing page for current plan details.

How Credits Are Counted

  • Credits are deducted based on the length of your input text, not the length of the audio produced.
  • You are only charged when you generate audio — previewing the interface or editing a script costs nothing.
  • Credits refresh with each monthly billing cycle.
